Toyota West Virginia is leading the way in meeting Toyota North America’s plan for an electrified future by producing a new hybrid transaxel designed for hybrid electric vehicles. This new effort not only illustrates the Putnam County facility’s 2,000-member team’s know-how and determination, but underscores Toyota’s commitment to electrification and ensuing job stability in the U.S. over the long term, according to company officials. Toyota has invested more than $18.6 billion into its U.S. manufacturing operations to support electrification efforts since 2021. Governor Jim Justice commented, “Toyota has allowed West Virginia to be at the forefront of innovation in cutting edge technology…I’m so grateful to Toyota for believing in West Virginia, because they have played a massive role in our state’s economic success.”
