Energy Efficient West Virginia (EEWV) is a group of concerned West Virginia residents, businesses and organizations working together to promote energy efficiency for the state’s residential, commercial and industrial energy customers. EEWV was created in 2009–in response to Appalachian Power Company’s proposed 43 percent rate hike–to promote stronger energy efficiency policies, protect residents from future rate hikes, and drive a market for energy efficiency services. The potential for investing in energy efficiency and demand response programs to help West Virginians save money on their bills is huge, according to EEWV. EEWF advocates for energy efficiency at the WV Public Service Commission, the WV state legislature and through its work with local organizations and municipal governments. Its website offers energy efficiency resources for local counties and governments, schools, homeowners & residents, along with reports and studies and a WV contractors list.
