Conservation West Virginia believes our families, communities and economy are stronger when we take care of our natural heritage. It advances this value by educating West Virginians about key conservation issues, taking positions on legislation and policies affecting the environment, communicating these views to elected officials, and mobilizing voters to elect conservation leaders. Conservation WV offers news addressing conservation and climate change in West Virginia and posts information about policies and legislation they support. Specific topics of concern are clean air, pure water, climate, land & wildlife, and development. As part of Conservation WV’s “Fix It” action plan for the 2024 election, they commissioned a poll of West Virginia voters between the ages of 18-40 in seven large WV counties. The key finding: Young voters want West Virginia politicians to clear the way for more renewable energy and to reduce energy costs, create new jobs, and keep young people from leaving the state.
